Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will assist with laboratory testing, sample collection, documentation, housekeeping, and quality control processes. The role plays an important part in ensuring raw materials, in-process products, and finished products meet quality and safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
Computer literacy
Ability to work shifts and overtime when requiredA strong commitment to safetyExperience in grain or soybean grading will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
The Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for:
Performing routine analytical tests on meals and proteins
Recording and reporting test results accuratelyPreparing Protein Certificates of Analysis (COAs)Reporting out-of-specification results
Supporting product quality investigations
Running NIR controls
Collecting effluent samples
Maintaining laboratory cleanliness and organization
Managing laboratory records and documentation
Storing and archiving retention samples
Carrying out other reasonable duties as required
